Dear School 2 Families,

My name is Carlita Rodriguez, and it is with great excitement that I announce my new assignment as the Interim Principal of Paterson Elementary School #2.

Originally born in the Dominican Republic, I immigrated to the United States at a young age and spent my formative years in Paterson. Being a fluent Spanish speaker who pursued my educational journey in Paterson, I am familiar with Paterson’s vibrant multicultural community. Throughout my time in the district, I have been granted opportunities that have allowed me to achieve my aspirations of becoming a school leader.

I have had the privilege of serving students in the Paterson Public School District for over 20 years in my roles as an Elementary Bilingual Special Education Teacher, Special Education Supervisor, Vice Principal, and now Interim Principal.

As the Interim Principal, my goal is to embrace this rich community and work alongside Paterson Elementary School #2's teachers and families in supporting our students in achieving a high level of success.

I have an open-door policy and look forward to meeting you on September 8, the first day of school. Together, we will make this an outstanding year for every child.

Mi nombre es Carlita Rodriguez y me llena de gran entusiasmo anunciar mi nuevo nombramiento como Directora Interina de la Escuela Primaria Número 2 de Paterson.

Nací en la República Dominicana y emigré a los Estados Unidos a una edad temprana, creciendo en la ciudad de Paterson. Como persona bilingüe y orgullosamente hispanohablante que realizó su trayectoria educativa en Paterson, conozco muy bien la riqueza y diversidad de nuestra comunidad multicultural. A lo largo de mi carrera en el distrito he recibido oportunidades que me han permitido alcanzar mi meta de servir como líder escolar.

He tenido el privilegio de servir a los estudiantes del Distrito Escolar de Paterson durante más de 20 años como Maestra de Educación Especial Bilingüe, Supervisora de Educación Especial, Subdirectora y ahora Directora Interina.

Como Directora Interina, mi compromiso es trabajar de la mano con nuestros maestros, estudiantes y familias para apoyar el éxito académico y personal de cada uno de nuestros niños.

Mantengo una política de puertas abiertas y espero tener la oportunidad de conocerlos el 8 de septiembre, el primer día de clases. Juntos haremos de este un año escolar extraordinario para todos nuestros estudiantes.
